Farewell to Manzanar

1) How did the food served at the camp show lack of understanding of the Japanese culture?
The food severed at the camp lacked the understanding of Japanese culture because the cooks put sweet fruit over the rice which the Japanese do not do because they only put salty or savory food over the rice.

2) Why do you think the families in the camps were assigned numbers?
I think the families in the camps were assigned numbers because everything looked the same in the camps; the food, building and even the inside of the buildings.
